Allendale County Schools issued the following announcement on September 29.

Fairfax, SC, SEPTEMBER 29, 2021- Allendale County School District announced today that the federal judge’s ruling opens the door for ACSD to have the discretionary authority to require students and staff to wear masks on campus and enforce wearing masks for all persons who enter school premises.

“COVID and other airborne pathogens threaten the lives of our scholars, teachers, and staff and wearing a mask definitely helps to mitigate the spread of this deadly virus, “said Dr. Margaret Gilmore, District Superintendent. “The goal of Allendale County School District is to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for every student.” she said.

Allendale County Schools has placed several plans in place to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in schools. Rapid Reliable Testing, LLC conducts on-site testing for Allendale students twice a week and Vaccine Clinics are offered as well.   The district remains hopeful that COVID numbers will continue to decrease so that in-person instruction can continue for all students.
