Hampton County Sheriff’s Office issued the following announcement on October 1.

A concerned citizen reported that yesterday evening, someone approached his home informing him that he should have received information upon his closing regarding setting up an account with ADT Security and asked if he could evaluate his home and advise him on weak areas. The man also informed the homeowner that his home was listed on Trulia providing information about the home. Further, that his promotional offer was only good for 24 hours and that if the homeowner called the company he would be redirected to sales. 

The man provided the name of Roger, telephone number (803) 508-9421 and was driving and older, light blue Toyota Odyssey with no company markings.
