Following Nikki Haley’s comments opposing the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law – which is set to deliver more than $2.1 billion for transportation to invest in roads, bridges, public transit, ports and airports and over $89 million for clean water in South Carolina – South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Trav Robertson released the following statement:
“It’s beyond shameful that Nikki Haley would come out against critically needed funding to make much needed investments to South Carolina’s transportation, water, and economy. Supporting better roads, bridges, while creating good-paying jobs should’ve been Haley’s priority as governor, but it took President Joe Biden working across the aisle, including with South Carolina’s senior Republican senator, to deliver for the Palmetto State. Haley is so desperate for national relevance she’s willing to oppose fixing South Carolina’s crumbling infrastructure. Good luck with that.”
