Allendale County Schools issued the following announcement on November 8.
Fairfax, SC, November 8, 2021- The Marquis Publications Board has presented Allendale County School District Superintendent Dr. Margaret Gilmore with the 2021-2022 Who’s Who in America Award. The Marquis Who’s Who in America Publication is a biographical source first published in 1899 highlighting momentous men and women throughout the world.
The publication highlights thousands of biographies that reach far beyond basic facts to shed light on who these individuals really are. Listees include Noble and Pulitzer Prize winners, best-selling authors, legendary athletes, corporate executives, educators, entrepreneurs, and more. Marquis Who’s Who is currently used by nearly every public and academic library in the United States-as well as corporate and research libraries around the world.
After serving as a teacher, administrator, and transformational leader for over thirty-seven years in Arkansas, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee, Dr. Gilmore has made many strides in her career, and she has changed several headlines.
State Superintendent of Education Molly Spearman shared her congratulatory remarks on Dr. Gilmore’s accomplishment.
“Dr. Gilmore has led tremendous progress in Allendale County School District since coming to the district in 2017. Her work in Allendale and in schools and districts across the country make her truly deserving of this honor.” She said.
Dr. Darrell Johnson, Executive Director, Salkehatchie Education Consortium expressed his appreciation and admiration of Dr. Gilmore.
“Dr. Gilmore is a consummate professional who embodies the attributes of character, integrity, honor, and commitment to education. She executes leadership competencies with keen precision and works collaboratively with the cultivation of enhanced community relationships.
She has consistently demonstrated her conscientiousness and genuine commitment to the education of Allendale County School District students as well as a concern for professional growth and development of the staff. Dr. Gilmore is well deserving of this recognition.” He said.
Ms. Lottie Lewis, Mayor Pro Tem and Chairperson of the Allendale Rural Arts Team, works alongside Dr. Gilmore on various community projects and school events. After learning of Dr. Gilmore’s award, Ms. Lewis was delighted and certain that national recognition of Dr. Gilmore has been long overdue.
“I am thrilled and proud of Dr. Gilmore’s inclusion into Who’s Who in America. I am proud to have served on numerous committees with Dr. Gilmore and I admire her determination to help move Allendale forward. She is dedicated to excellence, devoted to the children, and she is a dynamic community partner. This recognition underscores what we already know about her.” She said.
Allendale County School District students and staff are greatly appreciative of Dr. Gilmore and each of her leadership efforts put forth daily throughout the district. The district is immensely proud and supportive of Dr. Gilmore and her accomplishments.
