Denmark Technical College issued the following announcement on March 23.
Denmark Technical College celebrated dozens of students this week at their annual honors convocation and induction ceremony. The Denmark Tech gymnasium was flooded with students, faculty, staff, family and friends gathered to recognize the achievements of high performing students.
“We are so proud of the scholars we honored today. It’s important to take the time to celebrate our students’ successes. They have shown a commendable dedication to their studies, and we want to keep that momentum going as they forge onward into the future, allowing their lights to shine brightly,” said Dr. Willie L. Todd Jr., president and CEO.
Eight students were inducted into Phi Theta Kappa, a national honors society that recognizes academic achievement of two-year college students and provides opportunities for its members to grow as scholars and leaders. Established in 1918, Phi Theta Kappa has a presence on almost 1,300 community college campuses in 11 nations. To be eligible for induction, students must have completed at least 12 hours of coursework toward an associate or bachelor’s degree or at least six hours of coursework toward a certificate and have a cumulative 3.5 grade point average.

“I was really happy to learn that I was chosen to be on the All-State Academic Team. Denmark Tech has been so supportive of my educational journey. Recognition like this shows me that my hard work is paying off, and it’s getting noticed,” said Wilson.
