May is Asthma Awareness Month
More than 25 million Americans have asthma, including 6.1 million children. This chronic lung disease causes millions of lost school and work days every year and is the third leading cause of hospitalization among children.
We have the tools you need to manage asthma --- including a free Asthma Basics online course and Asthma Action Plan meant for all ages and backgrounds.

Asthma and Pertussis
Did you know that adults living with asthma are at an increased risk of infection and complications from pertussis (whooping cough)? Pertussis is a serious respiratory illness that can easily spread. The American Lung Association, in collaboration with Sanofi, aims to educate all adults on the potential dangers of pertussis and the importance of being vaccinated.

It's Scary When You Can't Breathe
Thankfully, you can advocate for better asthma care. Last month, a bipartisan group of Congress members introduced a bill that would expand the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Asthma Control Program. This would increase federal, state and local efforts to improve care for individuals affected by asthma.
We need your help to call on our members of Congress to cosponsor this bill.
