Town of Edisto Beach issued the following announcement on March 15.

Scams claiming to provide support for Ukraine are being circulated across the world.  If solicited for donations ask specific questions of the organization and conduct background research before providing funds.  Remember that legitimate organizations will not request personal information, utilize money orders, or request that you purchase gift cards as donations.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Edisto Beach Police Department @ 843.549.2211
